My boyfriend has multiple sleep disorder symptoms… Is it dangerous?
Occasionally he grinds his teeth, holds his breath, talks, and once most recently woke up talking about laundry and pointed to (I guess what he thought was a pile of laundry) and told me to seperate the whites. I started laughing and he got mad and kept going on about the laundry!!! The scary thing is he got up and got a drink of water while all of this was happening?!? I tried to tell him he was sleep talking but he didn’t get it. Is this something i should be concerned about? Because it scared the crap out of me.
symptoms of sleeping disorder insomnia?
What are symptoms of insomnia?
Do I have symptoms of a sleep disorder?
I am 12 years old and have never been able to get to sleep before 11 o’ clock ever since I was about eight or nine. In fact, right now I go to bed at about 12 every night, if my dog ever stops barking. I find that I can only go to sleep REALLY late with no television (or any white noise and light) on, or earliER with the TV. I am not the kind of person who can go to bed and fall asleep five minutes later, if I am lucky, it will take me an hour to fall asleep using either method and I will get about 5-6 hours of sleep (I wake up at 6:30.) Please help me and tell me what is wrong and if there is anything I can do to fix it, my pediatrician told me to go to sleep earlier AND without the television on but that just makes it worse and I find that whenever I try and do that, even when I do it for a couple nights in a row to try and get used to it, I will end up getting no sleep at all!
What eating disorder symptoms do doctors look for?
Hi,
I am going to the doctor tomorrow. I know that he suspects I have an eating disorder (I am 5’8″ and 102lbs, but blame it on my genetics) and so I need to know what he will be watching out for during my appointment!
I know he will ask the obvious questions: are you eating right? are you sleeping right? how much are you exercising? etc but I don’t know what physical symptoms he will look for other than my weight?
Thanks in advance for your help!
does anyone have shift work sleep disorder?
i read in a prescribing book that there is such a thing as shift work sleep disorder. I’m wondering if it’s true and what they actually prescribe as drugs for it. If anyone has this let me know what your symptoms were and what they put you on. I seriously think i have this.
What are some other symptoms of bipolar disorder?
I have been diagnosed with bipolar type I, which I understand has hallucinations and is more extreme than bipolar type II. I know the symptoms that every website lists for bipolar- increased energy, decreased need for sleep, etc…for mania and decreased energy, feelings of hopelessness or guilt, etc…for depression. What I’m looking for is individual experiences with this disorder. For example, I get really involved in things like painting, then feng shui, then collecting several different things, then geneology, then physics, etc… when I’m manic. I switch from one thing into a completely different thing and completely lose interest in the thing before. Does that make sense? I know that each person’s experiences will vary, but I would like to hear about behaviors besides those listed in the typical diagnostic criterea.
These answers are great. I have to laugh because I can relate to so many of you!
What type of sleep disorder is this?
I have only been getting about 3-4 hrs. of sleep for the past 3 months. I’m 13 and I know how much sleep your supposed to get when your a teen. Now i’m starting to show symptoms of sleep loss the first is #1 I always fall asleep in the middle of school even if were doing something interesting, I can’t help it. #2 I’m doing really bad in gym which I used to be good at. #3 When I come home I always lay on my bed watch tv, read, go on the computer, etc. and fall asleep and it’s really hard to wake up. #4 I’ve been thinking really weird things, and i’m imagining, seeing, and sometimes even hearing things. I’m afraid of things that i’ve never been afraid of. I have also been crying because im always so sleepy. Some say that things that happened in the past can result in sleep disorders, even if they are not scary. If this is true then my dad had a brain tumor which messed up his brain 4 yrs ago. I have never known why but the sleeping has always made me feel scared and venerable when i’m in bed and it feels like if I close my eyes when I open them there will be something scary right in my face. Now that i’m imagining this stuff is just scaring me more and when I try to sleep it’s really hard. What does this sound like to you?
Sleep disorder, I am afraid to sleep so what should I do?
I know I already posted this but i’m posting it again so I will have more than 2 good answers.

(fainting, maybe?) but my mom won’t let me anymore. #4 I’ve been thinking really weird things, and i’m amigining, seing, and sometimes even hearing things. Some say that things that happened in the past can result in sleep disorders, even if they are not scary. If this si true then my dad had a brain tumor wich messed up his brain 4 yrs ago, my parents are divorced now. Wat I wan’t to know is what are some common sleep disorders among teens, I have never known why but the sleeping has always made me feel scared and vunurable when i’m in bed and it feels like if I close my eyes when I open them there will be something scary right in my face. Now that i’m imaganing this stuff is just scaring me more. My other question is what should I do about this? I asked my mom about going to the doctor but she said I was being stupid and most people who claim to have sleep disoreders are over reacting, and she won’t let me sleep in her room because a 13 yr old is to old to be sleeping in their parents room. I also know 2 people with sleeping disorders and I want to use the information to help them too. Tnks for reading, bye
